Home and Community Care Ireland (HCCI), in collaboration with the Department of Employment Affairs & Social Protection (DEASP) and the City of Dublin Education & Training Board (CDETB), hosted a virtual Home Care recruitment day on Thursday September 29th.

The recruitment day matched interested jobseekers with potential employers among HCCI’s members and was open to jobseekers interested in a career in home care nationwide.

HCCI had very strong interest from member companies as well as jobseekers with more than 150 jobseekers and fourteen HCCI member companies registering for the event. The Recruitment Day gave HCCI an opportunity to highlight the many benefits a career in home care can bring to job seekers and introduced jobseekers to potential employers in their own geographical area.

Joseph Musgrave, HCCI, CEO, said “HCCI are pleased to continue our strong relationship with DEASP & CDETB to identify and encourage jobseekers into the home care sector.  This event allowed us to highlight the benefits of becoming a home care worker and showcase the many opportunities within the sector.

“There is a strong demand for home care workers and it is important to be innovative and have a collaborate approach to recruitment.  Many HCCI members work closely with their local employment offices, so it was great to build on that and run an event open to everybody across the country.”

The HCCI Home Care Recruitment Day follows over a year of engagement between DEASP and CDETB, who collaborated in running a number of training courses in Coláiste Ide, Dublin, through the Skills to Advance and Skills to Compete programmes.  HCCI and our members are committed to continue working with these organisations to train and find employment for jobseekers across the country.
