A County Longford nursing home has made an application for permission to make significant expansions to its existing property.
The Laurel Lodge Nursing Home in Templemichael Glebe, Longford is now hoping to secure planning permission for four separate extensions to its facility.
It already boasts a setup that includes three separate inter-linked units.
Now, however, the nursing home is hoping to make two extensions at the south of the building, one at the south-east, and another to a courtyard, as reported by LeitrimLive.
The local publication also reported that the Laurel Lodge Nursing Home is seeking permission for the retention of a shipping container that is used as a laundry facility.
The Templemichael nursing home has 114 long- and short-term residents.
There are nine communal areas and sitting rooms throughout the building where residents and visitors can meet and sit in comfortable surroundings.
